9:30 a.m. UPDATE
This is an update to the previous message concerning the smell of gas on the BSM campus today, Monday, Dec. 19, 2022.
CenterPoint Energy is on campus and has checked all equipment and ensured the building is safe. There was no gas detected inside the building.
Students, who were immediately evacuated to Beth El Synagogue at 8:30 a.m., are now returning to campus and the school day will resume.

8:45 a.m. MESSAGE
Good morning parents and guardians,
Out of extreme caution for the safety of our students, they were evacuated to Beth El Synagogue at 8:30 a.m. this morning, Monday, Dec. 19, 2022 because of a mechanical issue and the smell of natural gas within BSM’s building.
CenterPoint Energy is enroute to check all equipment. Students will remain at Beth El until 9:15 a.m. when they will either return to school or be released to go home.
