Benilde-St. Margaret’s School announces the launch of its revamped athletics and activities website to serve the needs of students and their families throughout the school year. The expanded site remains at the same URL, bsmredknights.org.
“Our new athletics & activities website allows us to spread the word about our talented student athletes and performers,” said Rick Johns ’70, BSM director of athletics & activities. “The new platform makes it easier for families to stay up to date with event schedules, scores, and highlights of our Red Knights.”
The new site also increases the visibility of the Red Knights community, ensuring alums, parents, and prospective families can get the latest news about each of BSM’s 70+ co-curricular programs. With compelling and relevant content promoting both athletics and activities at BSM, the new site explores the history and achievements of past students while also providing easy access to purchase tickets to the latest events, matches, and games.
“We want to make this platform reflect exactly who we are at BSM and why we do what we do,” Johns said, noting, “What makes us different from other schools is the way our coaches and advisors teach leadership skills, develop athletic ability, and encourage students to play for the sheer enjoyment of the game.”
The large variety of programs makes it possible for 93% of students to participate in at least one co-curricular each year. As a Catholic school, BSM nurtures a culture of teamwork and character in each program, stressing the importance of whole person learning.
Johns notes the new website also allows for a new EPIC internship program for sports marketing. “In the coming weeks, we’ll establish a student sports & activity marketing opportunity, where students will provide coverage of games and events featuring their peers. Our interns will generate content preparing them for future careers in the dynamic industry of sports communications.” Interested students can reach out to Rick Johns or Steve Pohlen, EdD ’85, director of BSM’s EPIC internship program.
Throughout the school year, more photos and information will be added to the new site, celebrating the wins on and off the field of our Red Knights.
Alums and families are invited to share photos of past events, teams, and celebrations to further expand the resources available at www.bsmredknights.org
