Benilde-St. Margaret’s junior high drama students are excited to present Disney's Mary Poppins, Jr. to the community this winter! This show is perfect for all ages, so make sure to bring the whole family to experience Mary Poppins’ magic at Hamburge Theater on the BSM campus.

Performances are on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m., or Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the door.

The story of Mary Poppins leads audiences along the growth of the Banks family, as magical nanny Mary Poppins teaches kids and adults alike to value each other.

Students auditioned in the beginning of January, and are excited to present the show this weekend. With the popularity of the show and the short timeline to prepare, students worked extra hard to bring this show to the stage. Finn Seppala ‘28 plays the role of Michael Banks in the musical and noted, “we’ve put a lot of effort into it, and I think it’s going to turn out really well.”

Director Megan Kelly Hubbell acknowledged the hard work of the students. “I'm so excited for them to have an audience because they're having so much fun and they're so proud of what they're doing.” Students are just as excited as their director to finally showcase the musical. Taylor Hasling ‘27 plays the title role of Mary Poppins and said, “The show is really fun, and even if you don’t know the story, it’s a great introduction.”

Hasling also noted the quality of the show saying, “every show I’ve been to here has always had amazing sets and costumes and the dance moves are always on point.” BSM has again assembled a show with great acting by a cast full of energy and a supportive school community behind it. Director Hubbell said, “I think that we do a really great job of creating a sense of belonging, a sense of fun, a sense of responsibility that really binds the groups together to make a great show.”

Audiences can attend Disney's Mary Poppins, Jr. on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m., or Sunday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online or at the door. BSM students get in for free with a school ID.
