The end of a school year provides a sense of accomplishment for everyone involved in life at Benilde-St. Margaret’s.
Teachers feel satisfaction for imparting knowledge to another generation of learners. Staff, often behind the scenes, appreciate the progress made in pushing the school forward. Students, especially our seniors, bask in a feeling of achievement at having done their best, anticipating new opportunities which lie ahead. And parents, perhaps with a bittersweet sense of wonder, reflect on how quickly their children are maturing into adults they are proud to call family.
BSM serves as the platform for our collective successes as community. Whether in the classroom or on the field, or studying at home or with friends in the hallway, we are Red Knights. Called to be part of something greater than ourselves, we possess a shared responsibility to learn and grow with the knowledge received in our school.
Yet academic excellence on its own, can only take us so far in life. It is through the lens of faith that our accomplishments can be understood for their full value. Knowledge, when applied to service, becomes the catalyst to make meaningful contributions in the lives of others. As a community of faith, in the Catholic tradition, the connection between faith, knowledge, skills, and service come alive.
I often hear how the BSM mission and commitment is what attracted so many of our families to invest in their child’s future with a BSM education. The mission of our school comes to life through the work of our faculty, staff, and administration. Real success at BSM is measured by what each of us invests in those around us. It is a holistic investment, going beyond the assignments and grades, even beyond the walls of BSM impacting our local community and wherever we go in life.
The end of another school year is a moment to reflect on what has been achieved, and more importantly, it is an opportunity to be inspired to further greatness. I am truly grateful for the commitment and skill of our faculty, staff, benefactors, volunteers, and board of directors in creating another exceptional experience for the next generation of Red Knights.
May God continue to bless your families throughout the summer months.
