Girls’ Basketball Advances at State

Congratulations to the BSM girls’ basketball team which qualified for the 2023 Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Girls Basketball Tournament by defeating Academy of Holy Angels 71-47 on Thursday, March 9. This is the second consecutive year the girls are Section 6AAA champs.

The Red Knights are now headed to the State Tournament beginning Wednesday, March 15 at the Maturi Pavilion on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

The team follows in the footsteps of 10 other BSM Girls’ basketball conference championship teams. They look to join previous state champ teams in 2006 and 2010.

State Tournament information and ticket details are now available. Information regarding an event schedule will be sent to all parents, guardians, and students by Monday, March 13 so that students, faculty and staff can attend and cheer on the team during the tournament.

UPDATE: Wednesday, March 15

Congratulations to the girls' basketball team on their victory this afternoon 64 - 53 over DeLaSalle.

The MSHSL State Tournament Semifinal game will be on Thursday, March 16 at 2 p.m. at Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus vs. Alexandria.

The administration has decided to dismiss school at 1:05 p.m. tomorrow so that students, faculty and staff may attend and enjoy the game. Tickets are available and fan buses will be provided for those students who want to cheer on our girls' basketball team.

UPDATE: Thursday, March 16

The team defeated Alexandria Area Schools 70 - 51 this afternoon in a hard-fought game.

The MSHSL Class AAA State Tournament Championship game will be on Saturday, March 18 at 6 p.m. at Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus vs. Stewartville.
