Greetings Benilde-St. Margaret's Families and Friends,
Each year, I look forward to the Easter season for many reasons. The cold days of winter have been replaced by warmer spring weather, and the days of reflection and personal growth during Lent bring us to gatherings with family and loved ones, rejoicing in God’s love as experienced through Jesus’ resurrection.
The message of Easter is rooted in God’s faithfulness and love. I see that same faithfulness and love at work in the Benilde-St. Margaret’s community where our teachers and staff help each student develop healthy and meaningful relationships with self, others, and God. Our mission is rooted in a desire to empower every student to achieve their educational and faith potential as people of integrity who are prepared for wherever life takes them.
The spirit of this season extends beyond today, and will certainly be present at BSM with the all-school Easter Mass on Wednesday, April 27 when Archbishop Bernard Hebda will celebrate with us. I hope you will join us virtually for the service as a community of faith.
However you celebrate Easter with family and friends, I invite you to read this beautiful prayer from Mike Jeremiah, our campus minister. I hope its words bring joy to your gathering. My prayer for each of you - students, parents, families, faculty, staff, and alumni - is that God will richly bless you with joy, gratitude, and the hope of this season.
Happy Easter.
