We are excited to celebrate Homecoming 2022, “A Knight in the Country,” with the BSM community! There are many events planned throughout the week for our students and community to come together and celebrate what it means to be part of the Benilde-St. Margaret’s tradition. The senior high student council has been hard at work in making this a memorable week for our Red Knights - we hope you can join us for the festivities!

HOMECOMING EVENTS AT BSM:

  • Sunday, Sept. 18:
    • 1 - 3 p.m. - BSM Decorating (Main Lobby)
      • All students are invited to decorate the school in preparation for Homecoming Week festivities. Decorations will be provided.
         
  • Monday, Sept. 19:
    • Dress-up Theme: "Country Western or Country Club"
    • 9:20 a.m. - Senior High Homecoming Coronation (Great Hall)
      • Students will celebrate their classmates on the Homecoming Court, and crown this year's Homecoming King and Queen.
         
  • Tuesday, Sept. 20:
    • Dress-up Theme: "Adam Sandler Day"
    • 1 p.m. - Senior High Boys’ Volleyball (Great Hall & Haben Center)
      • Senior high boys are invited to play in a volleyball tournament.
    • 1 p.m. - Junior High Outdoor Event (BSM Stadium)
      • Junior high students will enjoy games and events with classmates.
         
  • Wednesday, Sept. 21:
    • Dress-up Theme: Red Carpet: "Dress your Best"
    • 9:20 a.m. - School-wide Homecoming Mass (Great Hall)
      • The BSM community will celebrate Mass as part of our Homecoming tradition.
         
  • Thursday, Sept. 22:
    • Dress-up Theme: "Generations Day"
    • 1 p.m. - Senior High Power Puff Football Game (BSM Stadium)
      • Senior high girls are invited to play in a flag football tournament.
    • 1 p.m. - Junior High Wellness Event
      • Junior high students will enjoy different Wellness activities with teachers and classmates.
         
  • Friday, Sept. 23
    • Dress-up Theme: "BSM Spirit Day" (Red and White)
    • 9 - 9:40 a.m. - Academic Convocation honoring Mark Vande Hei '85 (Great Hall)
      • BSM alumnus and NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei ‘85 (Colonel, U.S. Army Retired) returns to his alma mater for a special presentation to all students as the American who spent the longest single spaceflight (355 days) aboard the International Space Station.
    • 1 - 1:30 p.m. - Mark Vande Hei Q&A (Hamburge Theatre)
      • Junior high students have a chance to ask Mark Vande Hei, a NASA astronaut, questions about his travels and life experiences.
    • 1:50 p.m. - School-wide Homecoming Pepfest (Haben Center)
    • 7 - 9:30 p.m. - Freshman Homecoming Dance (BSM)
      • All 9th graders are invited to BSM for a homecoming dance and activities, including a mechanical bull (Please dress appropriately). This dance has the same activities and DJ as the 10th-12th dance, in a smaller format.
         
  • Saturday, Sept. 24:
    • 10 a.m. - Noon - The Red Zone Homecoming BBQ
      • Show your Red Knight spirit under the big tent next to the football stadium! Join BSM students, families, alumni, faculty, and staff at the pregame Homecoming BBQ.
      • The Homecoming BBQ will be catered by Old Southern BBQ and will include the following: your choice of BBQ sandwich (pulled pork, chicken, or brisket), macaroni and cheese, beans, coleslaw, chips, dessert, and a beverage. Register by Sunday, Sept. 18.
    • Noon - Homecoming Football Game vs St. Louis Park (BSM Stadium)
    • 7 - 10 p.m. - Senior High Homecoming Dance (BSM)
      • All 10-12th graders are invited to BSM for a homecoming dance and activities, including a mechanical bull. (Please dress appropriately)
