Catholic Schools Week 2025 is celebrated from Sunday, Jan. 27 through Saturday, Feb. 1 this year. In honor of this annual celebration of the mission and work of Catholic Schools, BSM's president, Danielle Hermanny '03 shares this message with our community:

Dear BSM parents, caregivers, and students,

Happy Catholic Schools Week!

This week gives us the opportunity to join in solidarity with our fellow Catholic schools across the nation to celebrate the particular gift of Catholic education in the lives of our students, educators, and community.

At BSM, we are grateful every day for our Catholic identity and the founding orders whose charisms– those gifts of the Holy Spirit to their order– animate our community in concrete and unique ways.

From the Sisters of St. Joseph, we learn to love God and the dear neighbor without distinction. We love God as we love our colleague, fellow student, or community member, and love that individual as we love God. We care deeply about every member of our community, including the broader community beyond our walls, instilling in students a sense of responsibility and service as they grow towards adulthood.

The De La Salle Christian Brothers inspire us to provide a Catholic education that values the relationships between teacher and student and prepares all students to be leaders wherever they go. Providing our students with innovative opportunities to learn in and beyond the classroom comes in many forms and encourages them to use this space to try, fail, and be persistent in their desire to succeed.

The Benedictines remind us to welcome all as Christ, and their commitment to hospitality is a hallmark of our lives as Red Knights. That call to welcome and hospitality compels us to welcome new students and families into community, and to see the face of Christ reflected in all we meet.

This tri-charism identity is the foundation for Benilde-St. Margaret’s unique expression of our Catholic faith in our school and the world. We are grateful for all of you who have chosen BSM as your school home, and take seriously our responsibility to partner with families to provide students with a holistic Catholic education in middle and high school.

May God continue to richly bless our BSM community, and all Catholic schools throughout the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and the country as we educate the hearts and minds of our students.

Sincerely,

Danielle Hermanny ‘03
BSM President
