Actor Michael McDonald ’24 urges everyone to come see the show: “The cast, crew, and adults involved are incredible people, and it has been a lot of fun working to get this show ready. The music is great, and the show itself has a heartwarming plot perfect for the holiday season."

The stage adaptation of “White Christmas” originated from the classic film starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney. The story follows soldiers Bob Wallace (Michael McDonald ’24) and Phil Davis (Lance Hoover ’23) who served under General Henry Waverley (Anne Marie Dominguez) in World War II, and, ten years later, they are still working together in a popular song and dance duo: Wallace and Davis. When they meet the singing sisters, Betty (Bianca Mojica ’23) and Judy Haynes (Anya Seppala ’25), Phil becomes enamored with the beautiful Judy, while Bob is more reserved about his feelings for Betty. The two men follow the sisters up to their seasonal show at The Columbia Inn in Vermont. They discover the inn is owned by General Waverley, but unbeknownst to him, the inn is struggling to survive. With the help of the concierge Martha (Cordelia Wolf ’23) and the General’s granddaughter, Susan (Sophia Demars ‘24), they decide to put on a big show to draw in business.

Red Knights started rehearsing for the musical as early as September, and they are excited to display their hard work for the BSM community soon. Cast member Jeremiah Russel ’23 graces the stage as Corp. Ralph Sheldrake. He noted the process of the musical has been grueling but also has been a great representation of the love for the theater at BSM. Russel also said of the cast, “[We’re] just teaching each other, and we can have fun and also still get work done.” Russel looks forward to performing the show next week.

This production is family friendly and sure to put you in the holiday spirit. Break a leg, Red Knights! Learn more about BSM’s drama department on their activities page.
