Inaugurating BSM's 50th Anniversary Celebration

Dear friends of BSM:

It is my honor to inaugurate the 50th anniversary of Benilde-St. Margaret’s School. The 2023-2024 school year marks an important milestone in our history, offering us ample opportunity to reflect, celebrate, and give thanks for this amazing school community.

The visionary leaders and supporters of St. Margaret’s Academy and Benilde High School understood the importance of making sacrifices to ensure future generations like ours would have access to the same Catholic educational experience they received. In a moment of uncertainty, they remained firm in their faith in God. Uniting as Benilde-St. Margaret’s changed the course of fate for both schools and demonstrated how God reveals Himself in difficult moments, giving us a “future of hope” (Jeremiah 29:11). 

What a future it has been and continues to be! For 50 years, BSM has unfailingly provided an environment for academic excellence, faith exploration, and personal growth where students can grow into people of character with hearts and minds prepared to serve the world.

We know the world is a better place because of the contributions made both in the halls of BSM and in the greater community by generations of Red Knights. We remember and honor those alumni, benefactors, administrators, faculty and staff who have departed this life, giving thanks for their lives and contributions. 

The faith and foresight of BSM founders is an inspiration for us. By remaining clear-eyed in our commitment to our mission, we continue to provide an unmatched, holistic education to our students. Your collective investment – of time, talent, and treasure – in this community prepares today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders.

If you’ve been away a week or even many years – I hope you’ll join us in celebrating our past and looking with anticipation towards our future during various opportunities throughout the upcoming year.

On Wednesday, August 23 from 7-9 p.m., join BSM alumni, families, and friends for “A Golden Journey,” our anniversary kick-off event which is sure to be memorable.

I also invite you to share a reflection about your experience at BSM and how being a Red Knight empowered you to contribute meaningfully in your community.

It is truly an exciting time to be a Red Knight (isn’t it always?), and I hope you will join me in celebrating our BSM legacy of excellence.
