Bringing Innovation and Technology to the Classroom.

At Benilde-St. Margaret’s technology promotes our vision, supports our mission and enhances our students’ successes in the classroom, in the community and on the athletic fields.

Through our 1:1 laptop program, interactive whiteboards, projection systems, Google Drive programs, Adobe products and a multitude of discipline specific software, technology at BSM transforms teaching and enhances the students’ learning experiences.

Introduced to in the junior high in 2006 and launched in the senior high in 2010, BSM’s 1:1 laptop program currently provides each student and teacher with a MacBook Air. These laptops are used to research and solve problems, to innovate and collaborate and to create and communicate through technology.

As a result of our work with technology, BSM has been selected as an Apple Distinguished School 2012-2017.

PowerSchool Learning: Used by teachers to manage their students’ learning in and out of class. It includes a calendar, assessment and assignment options, and several ways to share content area resources.

Apple’s One-to-One Program (1:1 laptop program) promotes our vision, supports our mission, and enhances our students’ successes in the classroom and beyond. Presented with the award first in 2012-2013, BSM again proves worthy of the award.

Transformative Technology Integration

Technology integration is an area of shared leadership strongly emphasized at BSM. The principals, as instructional leaders, are committed to the successful use of technology in the classroom. They organize regular, timely professional development and consider technology essential for teaching and learning at BSM. Department chairpersons organize learning communities and redesign curriculum to effectively integrate available technology. Faculty leaders regularly share innovative methods for teaching with technology. BSM encourages teachers to try out new technologies by providing as-needed one-to-one training and support.

Tech in Education Resources

Through appropriate hardware, software and transformative teaching methods, BSM incorporates technology into teaching and learning. Today’s students must be prepared to thrive in a constantly evolving technological landscape, so BSM strives to empower students in the process of exploration, creativity and discovery through the thoughtful integration of education technologies.
