Power & Importance of Prayer

Power & Importance of Prayer

You have probably seen the hashtags and the social media posts, and it’s hard to miss the TV coverage related to the student initiated walkouts in support of better laws about guns and more help for students who are suffering. It is heartbreaking to know that the impetus behind these public, peaceful student-led walkouts are the senseless deaths of so many young people around the country. This keeps me up at night.

Finding a Home in the BSM Junior High

Finding a Home in the BSM Junior High

Last year, I came to BSM as a brand new 7th grader, and I didn’t know anyone. As the year progressed, I met some people through swim team, pop choir, and just by being at school. However, I still didn’t feel like I was very close to anyone. It wasn’t until I auditioned for the junior high play that I really started to build some friendships. I knew from the very beginning that the theater department was going to be a place I would fit in.

Screenagers Documentary Viewing

Screenagers Documentary Viewing

Please join us Thursday, February 8, at 7 p.m. in BSM's Hamburge Theater, for a screening of the documentary Screenagers. This documentary highlights the effect of the digital age on children and provides ideas on how to help them minimize harmful effects and find balance. In Screenagers, physician and filmmaker Delaney Ruston takes a deeply personal approach as she probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including her own, to explore struggles over social media, video games, academics and internet addiction.
