Trout in the Classroom Program Featured in Sun Sailor

Students in Ms. Reuss's 8th-grade science class received over 250 rainbow trout eggs from Minnesota Trout Unlimited (MNTU) to raise in their classroom back in December. Students have been raising the trout in a 75-gallon fish tank and have taken on the responsibility of caring for the fish and testing water quality parameter including pH, ammonia, and nitrate daily.

BSMDT Awarded Second in AA Jazz, 4th in AA Kick at State Tournament

A huge congratulations to the Knightettes on their second place finish in Class AA Jazz and fourth place finish in Class AA Kick at the 2019 State Dance Tournament! 

Not only is this an impressive accomplishment but this accolade also just so happens to fall on the 20th anniversary of the BSM dance team participating in the state competition. The team danced their hearts out leaving it all on the floor on Friday and Saturday at Target Center. Congratulations to the entire team!

Congratulations to our Red Knight 2019 Minnesota Scholastic Art & Writing Award Winners! Winners include, Yingying Lv, John Landry, Gabriella Schmidt, Alicia Frip and Alice Petty winning a Silver Key for their work. Honorable Mention award winners include, Trevor Metz, John Landry, Ian Wong, Claire Lorimor and Amelia Backes with two Honorable Mention awards! Last, we had two gold winners Winton Petty and Gabriella Schmidt!

The month of February is Black History Month - a time of reflection, a tribute to those who have overcome suffering and injustice, and praise for a powerful and sustaining God. BSM has several activities planned to engage the community in courageous conversation about race in America and to open up the dialogue about the history of African Americans. Mock Trial Teams Make it to the 5th Round at Section Competition

Congratulations to both Mock Trial teams on making it to the 5th round at the section competition! This is the first time that BSM has had two teams make it to the 5th round, meaning they will be competing against one another at the next competition, Wednesday, February 20 followed by state!

I have experienced and been a part of a plethora of amazing activities, clubs and sports at Benilde-St. Margaret’s, one of the most influential clubs being Link Crew. Link Crew is a program offered to students once they reach their junior year of high school. The program helps incoming freshmen adjust from junior high to high school and assists incoming transfer students.

Due to the extreme cold and bitter temperatures, we will have another Online School Day tomorrow, Thursday, January 31. Students and Parents: Please check your email for further details. Temperatures will be improving throughout the day, meaning athletics/activities are still on unless you hear otherwise from your coach or adviser. Stay warm, Red Knights!
