Red Knights Pack 50,000 Meals for Undernourished Children During FMSC

As part of a service-learning project, BSM 7th graders participated in Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) on April 26. That same evening, the BSM girls’ and boys’ golf teams also volunteered their time to help hand pack meals for children in need. In total, Red Knights packed 251 boxes which is more than 50k meals that will feed 149 kids for a year in Haiti.

At Benilde-St. Margaret’s, the principal of service is ever-present throughout daily activities performed by students, faculty and staff members. While this ideal is stressed every day at BSM, word of a recent project that is meant to aid the school in its journey of positively impacting the community has not been quite so widespread.

Caring Youth Recognition

Celiena Davis ('18), Sydney Dickson ('22), Rachel Scoggins ('19) and Leif Anderson ('18), were recognized at the Caring Youth Recognition event on April 10, 2018. The purpose of the event is to “encourage and reward both a day-to-day lifestyle of caring concern for others and unselfish volunteerism.”

Mission Trip 2018 Meeting

Mission Trip 2018 Meeting

Current students in grades 9, 10 and 11 are invited to join us on the mission trip to Guatemala July 8-17, 2018. Students will stay with host families and work to build a house and outdoor kitchen by hand, as well as partake in cultural excursions to sites including the Mayan pyramids of Iximché and Lake Atitlán. Applications are now available from Mr. McMerty-Brummer in room 139 and on our website here. Please join us for an informational meeting Thursday, January 11, 7 p.m. in the BSM library.
