Some of you may not be aware, but there is this up and coming sport spreading like wildfire across the state of Minnesota. What is it you ask? Well, it has the word ‘ultimate’ in it. Does that grab your attention?
The people of Guatemala are near and dear to many a Red Knight. On July 8, 38 Red Knights and six BSM teachers will be embarking on a mission trip to build the Kingdom of God in Antigua, Guatemala. Each summer, BSM teams up with The God’s Child Project (GCP) to build homes for poverty-stricken families in Guatemala. This summer’s trip will be most extraordinary given the aftermath of the recent significant eruptions of the Fuego Volcano June 3.
Good Luck to the Red Knight Robotics Squad!
Congratulations and good luck to the Red Knight Robotics Squad representing BSM at the International RoboCup competition in Montreal, Canada! You can follow their adventures and competition on the BSM Robotics blog here.
“There is just something different here.” That phrase has continually jumped out at me over the past few months at Benilde-St. Margaret’s. We have been hosting events for families designed to help them learn about our school as they consider enrollment. Last month, our team officially welcomed a large number of new parents that will be joining us in the fall.
BSM Choir Performs at Catholic Community Foundation Event
Last Thursday, the BSM choir was invited to perform for 900 people at the Catholic Community Foundation's 25th anniversary banquet. The BSM choir performed two songs with local jazz singer Patty Peterson and one solo piece. In attendance were leaders from most of the Twin Cities Parishes as well as Archbishop Hebda. Our music is truly a gift from God. #BSMProud

Congratulations to our state speech competitors: Sophie Herrmann ('18) won the State Champion title in the category of “Great Speeches” and Breah Banks ('20) took the 6th place medal in “Prose.” This was at the State final for AA sections on Friday, April 20. So proud of our Red Knight “Speechers!” #BSMProud
With snow on the ground, it feels a bit far off to think of summer already. But, believe it or not, summer is right around the corner! BSM has some fantastic summer camp offerings that you will want to check out. Whether you are a student or parent looking for a great camp for your child, there is something for every child.
BSM prides itself on being a community where everybody can feel welcome. Whether you are eating lunch with friends or simply walking through the hallways, something about BSM always makes you feel at home. I think BSM’s strongest sense of community comes through in their vast array of clubs and activities. There are dozens of clubs offered at BSM with new ones starting each year so that each student is sure to find at least a couple that they enjoy.
Congrats to Mock Trial!
Congratulations to the BSM Mock Trial team who went 2-1 at the state competition! The team lost round one by two points to Apple Valley and then won round two over Maple River and finally won round three over Rochester Century. Julia Duda (’18) won an All-State witness award. She was one of only 12 witnesses in the state to win this award. Most impressive of all, BSM Mock Trial finished 4th overall at state!
