Personal Development & Wellbeing
The senior high counselors at BSM are available to meet with students about personal issues before school, during the student’s free period or after school. These Students should not miss class to meet with a counselor unless they have a pass from the teacher of the class they will miss.
The BSM Student Support Team meets weekly to discuss student needs, and serves as a central planning group for student wellness at BSM. Members of the team include the principals, assistant principals, counselors, learning specialists, chemical health counselor, the BSM campus minister, school psychologist, and clinical psychologist.
The Student Support Team is designed to provide support staff with an opportunity to meet on a regular basis and confidentially share concerns regarding students’ behavior along with academic or personal issues, including:
- Academic concerns
- Discipline referrals
- Family crises
- Chemical dependency
- Personal issues
If necessary, the team also determines appropriate plans of action to address issues at hand.
Information discussed by the BSM Student Support Team is received from faculty and teacher referrals, parents, and students sharing their concerns.
