College Counseling

Because an average of 95% of BSM graduates attend college, the counseling staff are very involved in assisting students with their post-secondary plans. Our team believes strongly in listening to each student's aspirations, and responding in a collaborative way, partnering with students and their parents to work through a process leading to each student's desired outcome upon graduation.

Counselors work with juniors and seniors in a variety of ways:

  • Register students for classes
  • Assist in identifying post-secondary options
  • Assist with essays and personal statements
  • Write letters of recommendation
  • Process and review applications before students submit them to colleges
  • Send mid-year and final grades to colleges
  • Provide emotional support
  • Serve as an advocate throughout the college admissions process

The BSM College and Career Center is a resource center for both students and parents. The counselors and trained volunteer parents, staff the College and Career Center and are available to assist our Red Knight families.

College Fair

Every year BSM hosts a College Fair and all current juniors are required to attend as a part of their Building Your Future portfolio, and all other BSM students and parents are welcome to attend.

Approximately 125 college and university representatives come every year to talk with prospective students and parents. They answer questions about the college admissions process and provide information about their particular college or university.
