Student Ministry Groups

The largest co-curricular program at the school, RKVC has over 500 student members. This program centers on student volunteers working in the community where they gain experience from a variety of volunteer opportunities including time in hospitals and nursing homes to helping children with special needs.

Link Crew is a national organization that is implemented in high schools all over the country. The ultimate purpose of the "crew" is to help freshmen and new students feel more comfortable with their transition, and to help them achieve success in the first year at BSM.

WEB is an orientation program, led by selected eighth graders, who mentor groups of seventh graders and new eighth grade students.

This is a group for students of color that provides opportunities for community building and networking. Students are invited to come together every Tuesday during lunch to share a meal and affinity.

BSM offers these opportunities to gather as a way to prevent roadblocks to success from negatively affecting the personal and academic lives of students. Support groups also help students who are dealing with serious issues have a way to make connections and receive the care needed. Support groups also provide the Student Support Team with opportunities to be aware of student issues within the school.

Students for Human Life is a BSM organization providing students with an opportunity to advocate for life at all of its stages and pursue a variety of ways to raise awareness that all life is sacred from conception till natural death.

Peer Ministry at BSM is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who have a desire to grow their own spiritual life and lead others to do the same. Peer Ministers support payer, retreats, and faith based programming throughout the school year.

Knightlife is a group of over 50 students who have made a decision to live and promote healthy, chemical-free lifestyles. Knightlife organizes club and school events to educate their peers on the reality of substance usage with the goal of eliminating substance use and abuse. In addition to this, the club participates in weekend activities to help students get to know each other in a chemically-free environment.

In the sustainability club, members discuss environmental issues that impact the world around us. Students complete projects at BSM and in the surrounding community such as tree planting, phone drives, and more. The club also creates awareness within the BSM community on how each of us can be more sustainable in our own lives such as merely downloading and searching on Ecosia to plant trees.

Red Knights for Social Justice is open to all students in grades 7-12. This club was founded to create awareness of current social justice issues in the community and devise a plan of action to work for social change.

Letters of Love is a club passionate about giving back to our community. Red Knights get together and create handmade cards for kids with cancer and chronic illnesses.

Caring for the Courageous is a BSM club that fundraises and creates gift bags consisting of blankets, stuffed animals, art supplies, and fidgets for kids in children's hospitals around the Twin Cities. Our mission is to provide comfort and a smile to children with health challenges.

Each year, the Benilde-St. Margaret's community participates in a service immersion to Guatemala where students and chaperones help create a home for a local family. The service immersion provides students with an opportunity to contribute meaningfully by giving their time and talent to help others.

Eucharistic Ministry is a special lay ministry commissioned by the Church through the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. This ministry is designed to assist with the distribution of the Eucharist at our school liturgies or school related liturgies.
