Orchestra

Orchestra at BSM is available as both a curricular and extracurricular activity, with a variety of performance opportunities for string players at all levels.

Junior High Orchestra

String Orchestra is offered to 7th and 8th grade students who play violin, viola, cello, or upright acoustic bass. The class meets every other day during the regular school day for credit and serves to meet the requirement for junior high. Participants are required to perform in one concert each semester and may participate at most all-school Mass services.

Advanced string players are also invited to rehearse and perform with the High School Orchestra in addition to Junior High Orchestra if they wish.

Senior High Orchestra

*For ½ or 1 credit per semester or extracurricular

High School Orchestra is offered to high school students who play violin, viola, cello, or upright acoustic bass and meets during 3rd period.

The orchestra performs at most all-school Masses and gives one full concert per semester.
