Volunteer Today

The BSM Parent Association (PA) is committed to creating ways to enhance the community and support Catholic education. Volunteering is the perfect way to connect with other BSM parents through community-building activities and events, as well as recognition and hospitality events to support our students, teachers, and families. All PA events are volunteer-driven and we appreciate your time and commitment to making BSM a school we are proud to represent.

Throughout the school year, the PA will send Sign Up Genius links via email and Knightly News messages with details about volunteer opportunities. If you would like to make sure you are on our email list, please reach out to volunteers@bsmschool.org.

In order to serve as a volunteer who will be interacting with students, you must complete the Safe Environment requirements that were put in place by the Archdiocese and the State of Minnesota for volunteers in a school environment.

Instructions for completing the Essential 2 Safe Environment

Please only create an account if you have a specific, student-facing volunteer role as background checks have associated costs. The state of Minnesota requires this authorization form to be signed in order to complete the 123B background check

If you have an established account from a prior school within the past three years, you can complete this share form and we will add BSM as a location on your record.

Please visit the Archdiocesan website for more information. If your questions are not addressed there, please contact Dan Wrobleski, high school principal.

Code of Conduct Form

All parents are asked to review the Code of Conduct prior to volunteering to ensure they understand the safe environment expectations.

FAQ

How much of a time commitment is this?
As much as you want! If you only have a one or two hours tops to spare for the year, there are ways you can do that. If you want to get as involved as sitting on the PA Board, depending on your role, that could be anywhere from 3-12 hours per month.
Do I have to be Catholic to volunteer?
Not at all. Our parents come from a variety of faith practices and you will find a welcoming group who is thankful for the gift of your time.
Can I only be involved with parents in my student's grade?
Yes! We like to provide events for parents for each grade level to socialize and build their network. We always welcome parents who would be willing to host those grade-specific events.
What are examples of volunteer opportunities?
You can show up the day before to help set up tables for Grandparent's Day or the day-of to usher and assist Grandparents in attendance; you can work for a couple of hours greeting guests who attend KnightsBridge or help the vendors with set-up or take-down; you can help to hand out Poinsettias to those who purchased them. The options are endless!
The best way to start is to make sure you are on the "Call as Needed" email distribution list to learn about the various opportunities that can come right to your email. Send an email to volunteers@bsmschool.org to get started!
