Red Knights Qualify for MSHSL Girls’ Lacrosse State Tournament for First Time Program History

The BSM girls’ lacrosse team is making history this year! After beating Wayzata 10-8 in the Section Final June 9, our Red Knights were named Section 5 Champions and punched their ticket to the MSHSL State Tournament for the first time in program history.

Coach Ana Bowlsby is proud of her team, “We have a wonderful group of girls this year. They have worked so hard through the off season, and our improvement throughout has been remarkable.” Captain Xela Gunvalson ‘21 agrees and credits the team’s success to how strong they were coming into the season and being able to grow from there. This has allowed the team to implement strategies that Gunvalson describes as “once unthinkable.”

Captain Piper Ehlen ‘21 says she has made many memories this spring, some of her favorites include the “firsts” the team has accomplished. “I am so excited to continue to make history in the State Tournament with my teammates. I am so proud to be part of this team and look forward to watching the BSM girls’ lacrosse team continue to make their mark in years to come,” Ehlen says.

BSM will play Eden Prairie in the State Quarterfinals June 16 at 3 p.m. in Stillwater. Tickets must be purchased online, or fans can cheer on the Red Knights by watching the MN Prep Spotlight Livestream.

Congratulations on a historic season, and good luck at State, Red Knights!
