Prayers from Campus Ministry

As the BSM community honors the Passion of Jesus Christ as He journeys to the cross and out of the grave, BSM Campus Minister Mike Jeremiah offers prayers and reflections.

April 10, 2022 - Palm Sunday

“So they brought it to Jesus, threw their cloaks over the colt, and helped Jesus to mount. As he rode along, the people were spreading their cloaks on the road; and now as he was approaching the slope of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of his disciples began to praise God aloud with joy for all the mighty deeds they had seen. They proclaimed: ‘Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord. Peace in heaven and glory in the highest.’” Luke 19:35-38.

April 14, 2022 - Holy Thursday

“So when Jesus had washed their feet and put his garments back on and reclined at the table again, he said to them, ‘Do you realize what I have done for you? You call me ‘teacher’ and ‘master,’ and rightly so, for indeed I am. If I, therefore, the master and teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.’” John 13:12-15

April 15, 2022 - Good Friday

On this Good Friday, we look to the cross and remember Jesus’ suffering and sacrifice, His great love for us. “The saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost.” 1 Timothy 1:15

April 16, 2022 - Holy Saturday

On this Holy Saturday, we remain still, waiting and praying for the coming resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. "God of such amazing love, How do I begin to “celebrate” the passion and death of Your Son Jesus? It is so easy to think of a child in a manger in Bethlehem with angels and shepherds and wise men; It is quite another thing to think of a man betrayed and abandoned...beaten and crowned and crucified. I want to look the other way and not watch, to not stay with Jesus in His suffering. Give me the strength I need to truly share in His sacrifice, bringing my own weaknesses and imperfections; Give me the strength I need to truly  feel the greatness of His love for me which is a reflection of Your love. Help me to bring all that I am, for that is what You’ve made me, as I journey with Jesus throughout this Holy Week. In His Name, I pray. Amen."

April 17, 2022 - Easter Sunday

Alleluia, He is Risen! May our Easter be bright with the hope and joy of our Savior who lives and redeems! Download this prayer card to read as you gather with family to celebrate this Easter day. “Jesus said to her, ‘Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?’ She thought it was the gardener and said to him, ‘Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.’ Jesus said to her, ‘Mary!’ She turned and said to him in Hebrew, ‘Rabbouni,’ which means Teacher.” John 20:15-16
