Knightettes Take 2nd and 5th Place at State Dance Tournament!

The BSM Dance Team had a successful weekend competing at the MSHSL State Dance Tournament March 12-13, 2021, bringing home the 2nd place trophy in the Class AA Jazz competition and taking 5th place in the High Kick competition!

This year's jazz dance was a dramatic routine performed to “Falling In Love With You,” and they earned a total rank score of 6 by the state judges! The Knightettes’ kick routine was danced to “Spy Mix.”

The 2021 tournament was held at Edina High School while abiding by COVID-19 mitigation rules. A select number of passionate fans were able to attend while many cheered from home via the livestream. Dancers and fans alike were thankful for this tournament as an opportunity for these athletes to showcase the hard work and perseverance they put in all season and compete among the best teams in the state.

Senior Captain Myka Field says that the most incredible part of this season leading up to state was winning sections for both Kick and Jazz because it’s the first time they placed first in both categories in several years. “We are all super happy we are able to compete at state this year with all of the circumstances!”

A huge congratulations to these dancers on another incredible season and overcoming so much. We are #BSMproud of all you accomplished this year.
