Four Red Knights Named Semifinalists in Competitive 2020 National Merit Scholarship Program

On Wednesday, September 11, the highly competitive National Merit Scholarship Program announced its 2020 Semifinalists, including four BSM seniors: Sarah Luong, Harry Meshbesher, Joseph Marinaro, and William Valley.

In 2018, more than 1.5 million juniors took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Our four “qualifying” Red Knights represent the top one percent of 2020 high school seniors nationwide, as they are of the highest scoring participants in the state!

These students are not only excelling as test takers, but in various aspects of student life as well. You can find Joseph Marinaro on the field as one of our Red Knight football captains, in the classroom as a Math League captain, and in the halls as the senior class president. On the court, Sarah Luong dominates as a volleyball captain, in the classroom, she joins Joseph as a Math League Captain and participates in Medical Club. Harry Meshbesher can be caught leading the Knowledge Bowl team to victory as a captain and running cross country. William Valley crushes the competition in Knowledge Bowl as well, joins Harry in running cross country, and plays tennis.

All four students have bright futures ahead of them, and we are so proud to call them Red Knights!
