Dr. Adam Ehrmantraut to Leave BSM at End of School Year
In a December 13 announcement to all Benilde-St. Margaret’s faculty, staff, and parents, Board Chair Laura Portz announced that President Adam Ehrmantraut has decided this will be his last school year leading BSM.
“It is with sadness that I share with you that after five years leading Benilde-St. Margaret’s as President, Dr. Adam Ehrmantraut has made the decision to leave BSM at the end of the school year to pursue personal business opportunities outside of secondary education,” Portz said.
Dr. Ehrmantraut has held the position of President since February 2017. In his time, Portz noted that he has led the school through many successful initiatives, including developing systems and processes to address the COVID-19 pandemic with a focus on student learning and staff support, the construction of a new Atrium and the Cube learning commons, as well as record-setting enrollment. “Most importantly,” added Portz, “his leadership, professional expertise, and long history with the school have created an environment where our kids can truly grow and learn together in faith.” The BSM Board of Directors has launched a formal search process for Dr. Ehrmantraut’s replacement using an external search firm. The search process is being led by an experienced team of BSM Board members that represent current parents, alumni, and the archdiocese.
After thanking Dr. Ehrmantraut for his combined twelve years as a teacher, administrator, and President of Benilde-St. Margaret’s, Portz assured faculty, staff, and parents that the Board is confident it will find a strong replacement to lead BSM into the future.
“Given our unique standing as a premier Catholic, college-preparatory school, I am confident that we will find a president who, with the support of this strong, connected and prayerful community, will lead BSM to even greater things,” she said.
Dr. Ehrmantraut will continue to lead the school through June 2022.
