Dancing for a Cause at the Catholic Jamboree

On Saturday, December 1, 2018, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Knightette Dance Team will host the 9th annual Catholic Jamboree.  This showcase features area dance teams, including Benilde-St. Margaret’s, St. Cloud Cathedral, Holy Angels, Totino-Grace, and Holy Family.  Although each dance will be scored under the watchful eye of the judges, no awards will be given.  Instead, the teams will come together to raise money and support a very special charity to the BSM Dance Team.

During the 2017-2018 season, a new family joined the Knightettes. The father of this family had been diagnosed as being terminally ill with lymphoma.

John Beutz passed from this life on January 30, 2018.  This was just two short weeks after the Holy Family JV Competition, where he was able to watch his daughter and niece perform one final time. The memories of this event and of John, will last a lifetime.

For this reason, the BSM Dance Team chose the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as their charity for this season.  All of the proceeds from the 2018 Catholic Jamboree will go to LLS.
