Behind the Shield: President's Blog, Giving Thanks for our Many Gifts

Greetings BSM Families and Friends,

What a wonderful time of the year! Thanksgiving week is upon us which means family, friends, feasts, and most importantly, gratitude fills our hearts. This year has provided challenges yet again; however, we have been able to come together to provide our students with exceptional learning experiences all over campus.

I am grateful to work alongside committed and talented faculty and staff members. Our Red Knight students have learned together this year with their teachers, coaches, and advisors leading the way. I am also grateful for our parent partners that have helped our community navigate unique circumstances while supporting our educators and the student body. We also have many, many benefactors that have invested in the success of our school, knowing their support ultimately helps shape the lives of students.

Despite the challenges, we all have much to be thankful for this year. I leave you with a prayer penned by our own Mr. Mike Jeremiah. His words capture the hope of this season.

“And now, bless the God of all, who has done wondrous things on earth; Who fosters people’s growth from their mother’s womb and fashions them according to His will! May He grant you joy of heart, and may peace abide among you.” Sirach 50:22-23

Father, we turn to You in thanks for Your many gifts. May we never take for granted the little things that make our lives complete; may we strive to be as generous and as understanding with others as You are with us; may thankfulness fill our lives each and every day of the year, not needing a specific day or season. For Your many gifts and for Your endless love, we thank You.

I pray that God’s grace shines in your lives as it has at Benilde-St. Margaret’s during this special time of year. Happy Thanksgiving.

With gratitude,

Adam Ehrmantraut, Ed.D.
