How to Apply to BSM

Our early action application deadline for the 2025-2026 school year was on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024. After the early action deadline, applications for the 2025-2026 in grades 6-12 will be reviewed on a rolling basis as space is available in each grade.

Our goal throughout the admissions process is to ensure a smooth and efficient process, and our admissions portal helps us create that experience. BSM's admissions team takes a holistic approach to our review of future Red Knight students. You can learn more about our admissions philosophy and standards here.

Set Up your admissions account

BSM's required application items include:

An official application
Transcript information from the last two years
- Please use our Transcript Request Form to obtain this information
- Our admissions team requests that transcripts be sent to BSM between Dec. 1 - 15 in order to provide insight into current year academic progress for applicants.
One teacher/educator recommendation form
- A BSM specific form sent directly to your selected educator
A candidate video statement
- A casual introduction to your prospective Red Knight
An admissions exam (for students entering grades 6-9)
- 6th, 7th, and 8th grade applicants will take a middle school specific exam; 9th grade applicants will take the Pre-ACT 8/9

2025-2026 Applications

Early Action Application Deadline

Incoming 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th Grade Admissions Testing

As part of the application process, all 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade applicants will take an admissions test. Incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th grade applicants will register for a middle school specific test focusing on Math, English, and Writing, while 9th grade applicants will register for the PreACT 8/9.

After our early action deadline, admissions testing dates will occur on a rolling basis. Date information and registration will be available in our application portal.

The results from this exam are one of the tools that our admissions committees use during the review process, and they help with future placement in classes for enrolled Red Knights. The BSM admissions team will communicate more information about logistics throughout the application process.

Your prospective student should not need to study in preparation for this exam.

Tuition Assistance & Affordability

Benilde-St. Margaret's is committed to making a BSM education as affordable as possible for our families. BSM uses TADS to assess the needs of families who apply and qualify for need-based aid. BSM's TADS application for 2025-2026 is open and can be accessed here. After our early action deadline, BSM will continue to accept and review TADS applications as long as funds are available. In addition to tuition assistance awards, BSM has officially announced our merit-based scholarship application process. You can learn more by visiting our tuition and affordability page here.
