Admissions Timeline

We are here to guide you through the admissions process at Benilde-St. Margaret's. There are many dates, times, places and steps to remember as the year progresses. The timeline below outlines much of the key information you will need as you complete the application process. You can also download the full timeline here.

August

Open House: August 9, 2018, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. Daytime Open Houses will include a presentation by Admissions and members of BSM's school leadership, a tour of the school, and an opportunity to connect with representatives from various school departments. Register here

Incoming 7th grade and New 8th grade Orientation: August 27, 2018, 8-11:45 a.m.

Freshman Orientation: August 27, 2018,  8 a.m. - 2:40 p.m.

Transfer Student (grades 10-12) Orientation: August 27, 2018, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

First Day of School: Tuesday, August 28, 2018

September

Open House: September 20, 2018, 8:30-10:30 a.m. Daytime Open Houses will include a presentation by Admissions and members of BSM's school leadership, a tour of the school, and an opportunity to connect with representatives from various school departments. Register here.

October

Application for the 2019-2020 School Year Opens: October 1, 2018. Click here to apply for grades 7 - 12. Reminder: Priority application deadline is Friday, January 18, 2019. A copy of transcripts should also be requested from your son/daughters respective school. Our transcript request form can be found here

Evening Open House: October 15, 2018,  6-8:30 p.m. Evening Open Houses will include the opportunity to visit coaches, advisors, and participants from 6-6:30 p.m. at the Activities and Activities fair. A formal program will follow from 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. which will include a presentation from Admissions and a student panel, the opportunity to tour campus and follow a mini-class schedule, and the ability to meet with representatives from various school departments. Fall Play: Pippin, October 26 - 28, 2018. Contact Admissions for complementary tickets to the play.

Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS) for 2019-2020: Deadline for TADS is February 15, 2019. If tuition assistance will be a part of your family’s decision for joining the Red Knight community, please contact Admissions to discuss your options or visit our Tuition Assistance information page here. There is a specific process for applying for financial support. Funds are almost always distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

January

Evening Open House: January 7, 2019, 6-8:30 p.m. Evening Open Houses will include the opportunity to visit coaches, advisors, and participants from 6-6:30 p.m. at the Activities and Activities fair. A formal program will follow from 6:30 - 8:30 a.m. which will include a presentation from Admissions and a student panel, the opportunity to tour campus and follow a mini-class schedule, and the ability to meet with representatives from various school departments. Priority Application Deadline: January 18, 2019. The Admissions Committee will begin reviewing applications for the 2019-2020 school year. Please click here to start your online application now.

Incoming 7th and 9th grade Placement Test: January 19, 2019, 8:30 a.m. It is strongly recommended that all prospective BSM students take this test on Saturday. Students are automatically registered for the CogAT (Cognitive Abilities) test with the submission of an application for admission by January 18, 2019. There is also an optional program for new parents that takes place during the testing time (beginning at 8:45 am). The test will take approximately 3 hours.

Incoming 7th and 9th grade Placement Test Make-up: January 24, 2019, 5:30 p.m. If you cannot make the above date, please make every attempt to sign up for this alternate date. You can email the Admissions team to reserve your child's space for this exam date.

February

Acceptance Packet Mailied: All applications submitted before the January 18, 2019 priority deadline will receive an admissions decision in late February. Parents and students will each receive a packet. Enrollment information will be included. Information regarding tuition assistance will be mailed separately.

Junior High Musical: High School Musical, Jr. February 22 - 24, 2019. Contact Admissions for complimentary tickets.

March

Tuition Assistance Letters Mailed: March 1, 2019. Only students who have received an offer of admissions will receive a tuition assistance letter.

9th Grade Registration: March 2, 2019, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. All freshman students (new and returning BSM students) will attend this event to sign up for courses for the 2019-2020 school year. Guidance counselors are available to make course recommendations and schedule meetings with families to plan for their child’s freshman year. More information will be mailed.

9th Grade Registration Make-up: March 5, 2019, 5-7 p.m.

New Parent Welcome: Monday, April 15, 2019. This is a parent-only event intended for parents new to the Red Knight community (7-12) as well as parents of rising freshmen. This is a great opportunity to meet fellow parents and be introduced to the BSM community. This event will take place at BSM. Formal invitations will follow.

May

Freshman Activity Night: Friday, May 10, 2019. All incoming freshmen NEW to the BSM community are invited to join us for a fun evening of games, food, and socializing at BSM. Formal invitation to follow.

Propel Camp Sign Up - Freshmen NEW to BSM: Dates TBD. BSM's PROPEL Summer Program is designed to connect students to each other, and some of their potential teachers, in order to ease their transition into high school. More information and sign up can be found here

June

Walk-in Wednesdays: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., every Wednesday. Stop by BSM for a visit, no appointment needed. Visiting in person can give you a much better sense of what it's like to be a Red Knight.

Summer Assignments & Back-to-School Shopping: Some (not all) high school classes have summer assignments. If you are taking one of these classes, watch out for a postcard or email, or check the BSM "Back to School Resources" page here. There is not a high school supply list. It is recommended students bring a notebook and writing utensil to new student orientation and the first day of school. The junior high supply list can be found here.
