Red Knight Round-Up

Laptops (MacBook Air) for each new BSM Red Knight can be picked-up on campus during Red Knight Round-Up on either:

• Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 9 - 10 a.m. or 10 - 11 a.m.
• Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 3 - 4 p.m. or 4 - 5 p.m.

During this event, students will complete a one-hour tech orientation (choose from 9-10 a.m. or 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10 or 3-4 p.m. or 4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16) during which they will set-up their email account and be provided with PowerSchool training from the BSM technology team. 

Registration is not required for the orientation - all students will be able to attend.

For returning students in grades 8-12, they should be in possession of their laptops from last year. No additional training or access requirements are needed. If you have questions, please contact the BSM technology team. 

Every student must have their picture taken for ID purposes. 

Photos will be taken during Red Knight Round-Up on either:

• Wednesday, Aug. 10 from 7 a.m.  - 1 p.m. 
• Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 1 - 6 p.m.

Students must wear dress code compliant apparel or the photo will not be taken.

Photo packages will be available for purchase at jostenspix.com following Round-Up.

Those students who are unable to get their photo taken on Wednesday, Aug. 10 or Tuesday, Aug. 16 will have their photo taken on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

BSM’s student lunch service is managed through an outside company, Taher.

Each family will receive an email from Taher with student lunch registration details and other information before the start of the school year. Members of the Taher food service team will be at Red Knight Round-Up to capture fingerprints for lunch payment and to answer any questions.

Once in school, students use a finger print reader or swipe their school ID at the cashier to pay for lunch. Not all students buy lunch at school; it’s not uncommon for students to bring their lunch from home.

Senior high students will be able to see their schedule on PowerSchool before school starts. Students and parents will receive an email notification when schedules are published and viewable online.
Students who are brand new to BSM can see their schedules using their parents’ PowerSchool account.

Once school starts, students will have their own account. While students have already had a chance to see and change their schedules, we know that there might be some adjustments that need to be made. If that is the case, please email your counselor.

Junior high schedules will be distributed late August.

If a student is going to be absent or needs to arrive late or leave early, a parent must submit a note via the PowerSchool attendance link.

All Students
Please have a pair of headphones that can be used with your MacBook Air laptop for the year. Wireless or wired headphones or earbuds are acceptable.

Junior High (7-8)

Senior High (9-12)
There is no school supply list for senior high. Students can make their own choice on folders or binders, whatever is preferred. Once school starts, teachers may make recommendations for specific supplies. Senior high students may choose to use the online google calendar to stay organized or may opt to bring their own hard copy planner/calendar.  

Senior high students in grades 9-11 have a summer assignment. Click here to see your assignments. Seniors - please check based on the courses you are taking this year.

Junior high students do not have summer assignments.

Students enrolled in Intermediate Algebra, Algebra II, or beyond must have the TI Nspire CX (Not CAS CX).  This calculator will last students the rest of high school, college, and beyond.

Each student at BSM has a guidance counselor who is their partner through junior and senior high school until they graduate.

If you are not sure if something fits with the dress code, please ask Mrs Mortl (grade 7 and 8), Mr Weingartz (senior high, students A-L), or Mr Kautzman (senior high, students M-Z) before you would wear the selection to school.

Students in grades 7-9 need a gym uniform which can be purchase at the Spirit Shop during Red Knight Round-Up. The Spirit Shop is located inside the commons/cafeteria at BSM. 

Official practices/tryouts begin the week of Monday, August 15, 2022
