High School Course Selection

8th grade Student Course Course Selection Steps
For Freshman Year at BSM 
 

1. Look at Course Descriptions in the Program of Studies.
2. Check the courses you want to take on your Freshman Course Selection Worksheet. (for current 8th graders, Class of 2030)
3. Current BSM 8th grade students: You will register with your BSM counselor during science on March 4 or 5, 2026. 
4. If you are an 8th grader new to BSM, you will select your courses with a BSM counselor in person on one of the following dates. Please sign up for a time to register here: Click here to sign up for a time to meet 

• Thursday, March 5, from 4 - 7 p.m. in the BSM library
• Saturday, March 7, from 9 a.m. - noon in the BSM library

Current 9th-11th Grade BSM Student Course Selection Steps
 

1. Look at Course Descriptions in the Program of Studies.
2. Consider BSM's college credit courses. Review the College Credit Options presentation.
3. Circle courses you want to take on appropriate grade-level Course Selection Worksheet (you'll get a hard copy during the first week of February)

• Sophomore Course Selection Worksheet (for current freshmen, Class of 2029)
• Junior Course Selection Worksheet (for current sophomores, Class of 2028)
• Senior Course Selection Worksheet (for current juniors, Class of 2027)

4. Bring your completed course selection worksheet when you officially select your courses with counselor in the library:

• Current Freshmen: Friday, February 27 - during your English class

• Current Sophomores and Juniors: Monday, March 2 or Tuesday, March 3, during your Study Hall or BSM hour in BSM library - the first 40 minutes of each period

Courses with Applications and/or Auditions:

• Journalism: Journalism Application - due Tuesday, February 17
• Yearbook: Yearbook Application - due Friday, February 13
• Red Knotes: Auditions will be on  Wed. Feb. 11th at 2:45 pm in the choir room. Results posted on Thursday, Feb. 12th
