Academics
BSM is committed to offering an outstanding college-preparatory academic program which challenges students to do their best and prepares them to be the next generation of leaders in society.
Each BSM student receives a solid core curriculum, and has the opportunity to choose elective courses from a variety of subjects to suit their interests. Our faculty strive to provide the very best instruction in an engaging way, so that each student can achieve their personal best in a nurturing learning environment.
As a faith-based institution, BSM is rooted in a strong tradition of academic excellence, nurturing and inspiring students to achieve their best and share God's blessings with others.
The BSM curriculum includes numerous honors courses and 23 Advanced Placement courses providing students with extra opportunities to prepare for life after high school. Students can also take college courses while at BSM. In all levels of classes at BSM, students are taught how to apply the knowledge they've received. As a result, BSM students consistently score above average on ACT and SAT tests, and AP exams.
Students at BSM are consistently named National Merit finalists,
semifinalists, and commended scholars.
Nearly half of the students in each class graduate with honors,
going on to the very best colleges and universities of their choice.
BSM's 1:1 laptop program reflects the school's commitment to providing students and teachers with access to information and the ability to synthesize that knowledge, applying it to real life situations.
The BSM experience provides interactive learning opportunities every day, relying on specific online resources as needed, enhancing the in-person teaching and learning setting. BSM is committed to preparing students to thrive in a dynamic and ever-changing world.
Support programs are available for each student, depending on their needs - whether academic or social - ensuring a holistic approach to education at BSM. Learning at BSM naturally extends beyond the bounds of its campus, providing students with:
- Opportunities to grow beyond the local community,
- A global perspective through class culture and history trips,
- Participation in international service project missions, and
- Moments to give of self through charitable and service programs.
When each student's academic career at Benilde-St. Margaret's concludes, they will possess the knowledge and skills to always be driven to learn, active in community, inspired by faith, and prepared for life.
