The Father Daughter Dinner Dance provides a truly memorable evening for the senior high girls (9th-12th grade) and their fathers (or special father figures). This very popular semi-formal dance is one of the oldest traditions at Benilde-St. Margaret's, and last year was attended by over 500 fathers and daughters.

This year, the dance will be held on Friday, March 2, at the Mall of America Hilton, 3800 American Blvd. East, Bloomington. The cost for the evening is $45.00 per person.  Reservations and payments can be made online using the reservation form below. The deadline for registration is February 16.  Once reservations are made, the girls can reserve their table/seating assignments in the Spirit Shop.

Event Timeline:

6:30-7:15 p.m. - Check-in, Photos Available
7:30-8:30 p.m. - Dinner (Assigned Seating)
8:30-8:45 p.m. - Father and Senior Daughter Skits
8:45-11:30 p.m. - Games, DJ & Dancing

Other Details 

The Menu:  The entree choices are a panko herb crusted sauteed walleye with red pepper remoulade sauce, seasonal fresh vegetables and roasted potatoes, or vegetarian lasagna in a herb cream sauce and topped with melted cheese. Both entrees are served with a salad and rolls. For dessert, champagne cake with a mango raspberry coulis swirl or and indulgent brownie with chocolate chunks will be served. Beverages will include a choice of milk or lemonade. Fresh brewed coffee and tea will also be available. A cash bar for sodas will also be available. This is a no alcohol event.

Attire:  For dads, dress for the evening can be a suit or a sport coat with a shirt and tie. For daughters, a long or short semi-formal dress or dressy pants are appropriate.  Please no jeans on this special night out.

Photos:  A photographer will be present during the evening to take an optional photo of each couple. Photo options available are:  2 4x5's with 4 wallets---$15, 2 5x7's with 4 wallets---$20, or 1 8x10, 2 4x5's with 4 wallets---$25. The photos are paid for at the dance with cash or check only, no credit cards accepted. Photos will not be taken during dinner.

DVD:  A DVD of the evening can be ordered during the dance or in the Spirit Shop for $10.00

Seating:  Assigned seating is designated by grade. In cases where a dad has more than one daughter, he will sit at the table of the oldest. Daughters will be able to complete a form in the Spirit Shop for seating and table preferences. This is sometimes a difficult process, because the tables only accommodate 10 people. We ask everyone to be patient and flexible. Seating preference forms need to be completed by February 16. 

Skits:  There are two skits, one performed by the senior dads, one performed by the senior girls. Both have historically been very entertaining. Practice is scheduled for the dads' skit on Thursday, March 1, from 6-8 p.m., in the BSM commons. Practice for the girls is scheduled for February 27 and 29 from 2:45-4 p.m. in the BSM commons.

Parking: Is available onsite and is free.
