Skya feels, “it is an honor to go to school at BSM.” She enjoys that she is challenged academically and that there are high expectations for what students can accomplish.

Her favorite class is Global Social Justice because it makes students think critically. Skya says that, “BSM teachers help us learn about our faith while also teaching us to value all faith backgrounds.”

Skya is in involved with Red Knight Volunteer Corps, she’s a leader in the junior high WEB program and she plays on the volleyball team. She wanted so badly to be a gymnast until she became “way too tall!” However, she is happy things worked out the way they did. As she shared, “Playing at BSM is a great experience because coaches are so helpful and encouraging, and the coaches expect you to do your best.”

The Christmas Mass is her favorite BSM tradition. She enjoys that the Mass itself focuses on the religious meaning of the season and that we also take time to celebrate the joy of the holiday. She loves seeing her classmates share their creative talents.

“BSM is an amazing place. All the students are so encouraging of each other, and teachers make learning fun. We are all friends, and I have always felt part of the community.”
