Eric's Experience

Eric Wilson '17

2016 state football champion and Harvard-bound student-athlete are just parts of Eric’s story. Besides having an outstanding football career, Eric is involved in many other activities including band, the Red Knotes acapella group, track and field, Red Knight Volunteer Corps and National Honor Society. “I was allowed to make the best of all the opportunities BSM has available to me.  I got involved in ways I never thought I would.”

One of these opportunities includes volunteering. As such, Eric’s favorite class is Discipleship because of the volunteer and service requirement. “We are put into situations where we can grow as a person,” he shared. His volunteer experience with adults with disabilities has been especially meaningful to him.

“BSM has something for everyone. Students are encouraged to be well rounded, and teachers and coaches are supportive of any student who wants to take advantage of the variety of activities offered here at BSM. I think it is one of the best features of the school. BSM has set me up to become the best student-athlete I can be at Harvard University next fall. Without BSM, not much of what I have accomplished would have been possible.”

Some at BSM might be surprised to know that Eric has been in the MN Boys Choir for years. He has performed all around the state, country and world. He has toured Italy singing during a High Mass at St. Peter's Basilica, and before heading to Harvard this summer, he is traveling with the choir to Spain!
