On November 9, six BSM student athletes signed certificates to signify their athletic commitment to various Division 1 universities. Three boys’ basketball players, two girls’ basketball players and one boys’ lacrosse player made their choices known.

For boys’ basketball, Will Dunn will be heading to Indiana Unversity-Purdue University Fort Wayne, Sanjay Lumpkin has selected Northwestern University, and Isaiah Zierden will play for Creighton University. All three earned All-Conference honors last year.

Girls’ basketball players Josie Dillon and Khadijah Shumpert will go to the University of North Dakota and the University of New Mexico, respectively. Both collected All-State Awards as juniors, and Khadijah was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Ryan Lawyer has committed to Lafayette University for lacrosse. Last spring he was selected for the All-State 2nd Team.

BSM Athletic and Activities Director Jerry Pettinger says, “It’s always exciting to celebrate these moments with our student athletes. We’re proud of everything that these young people have accomplished as Red Knights, and we wish them the very best for their futures.”
