Knightettes bringing some jazz funk to state

The Knightettes varsity dance team will be heading to the state championship this Friday, February 15. The girls’ varsity jazz dance qualified for state by placing second in the section competition, held on February 9, at Faribault High School. The state competition will be held at the Target Center, with AA and AAA preliminaries beginning at 2 p.m. (with the Knightettes scheduled to perform first) and finals starting at 7:15 p.m.

Seniors Katie Sisk and Christine Silikowski and juniors Katie Segner and Jacqueline Bieter were named to the 2013 All-State Dance Team. They were selected by their coaches and the Minnesota Association of Dance Teams to represent the top dancers in class AA Jazz and High Kick. Katie Sisk and Christine Silikowski were honored for kick, and Katie Segner and Jacqueline Bieter were honored for jazz. The All-State Team will be featured in a dance show on Saturday March 9, at Eden Prairie High School, beginning at 6:30 p.m.
