Johnny Mulvahill named Mr. Soccer
The Minnesota State High School Soccer Coaches Association named BSM senior boys’ soccer player Johnny Mulvahill Class A Mr. Soccer Minnesota 2011. This is the first time a Red Knight boys’ soccer player has received this honor.
A two-year captain and three-year varsity player, Johnny currently plays as an attacker for the Red Knights. He has 16 goals and 12 assists to his credit this season, with 21 goals and 15 assists throughout his high school career. Twice he has received both All-Conference and All-State recognition. Senior teammates Paul Graupner and Kevin Lebahn were also recently selected to the All-State team, with Brendan Schember receiving honorable mention.
Update: On October 25, Johnny was also named to the Star Tribune All-Metro team as a defender. The paper noted, "He's a natural defender, but can play any position."
