Catholic School Week offers full schedule for January 30-February 3
Benilde-St. Margaret’s will be hosting several special events during Catholic Schools Week, January 30-February 3. BSM’s theme for the week, related to “joy,” reflects the school’s scripture theme for this school year, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I shall say it again, rejoice!” Each day will have a special, fun activity as well as an assigned dress up day. Dress-up is intended to tie in with the scripture theme of following Jesus with simplicity, so those participating are asked to use what they already have (or borrow from others), rather than purchasing anything.
The festivities will begin on Monday, with Pajama Day as the dress-up theme. The annual Hall of Honor event will be in the evening in the Great Hall.
An all-school celebration will be held Tuesday morning, including the announcement of the essay contest winners. This day faculty and staff should dress like students and students should dress like faculty.
With the Catholic Schools Week liturgy (with Fr. Tim Wozniak presiding) taking place Wednesday morning, students—as always—are asked to wear clothes appropriate for liturgy. The Common Basket collection, sponsored by the Theology department, will go to the Jack Jablonski Fund.
Students will hand out donuts to parent driver during the morning drop-off time on Thursday. Also, in honor of Groundhog Day, dressing like a groundhog or another favorite animal is encouraged.
On Friday, students will be receiving some extra hospitality with donuts during their homeroom. Wear your BSM red and white and celebrate the best Catholic High School, BSM, on Friday. A pep fest that afternoon will wrap up the week.
