The BSM Dance team have won the 2017 Jazz State AA Championship title! The ladies capped off their season at the Target Center this past weekend with the 1st place trophy for their jazz routine.

The team performed their kick dance - "Glam" and jazz dance - "Wonderful." Each dance was performed twice, first at the preliminary round and then at finals, 12 teams from each division compete in prelims, and only six of those teams advance to finals "Our kick dance placed 6th and our jazz dance placed 1st. This title is so meaningful because it proves that all of the hard work this season paid off and we couldn't be happier with how we ended our season" said captain Ava Smithmier ('18).

The Knightettes were hoping to come out on top this year after being the state runner up in jazz in 2016. This is the team's 19th consecutive appearance in the state tournament and third state championship title in the past four seasons.

Senior captain Cici Fortney says, "I couldn't think of a better way to end my sixth and final season on this team than with a championship title. Our team has been dedicated to this goal since the beginning of June 2016, and there is no greater feeling than this. I can't express how proud I am of my teammates, and our team is so incredibly humbled."

The team's motto for this season was "With Each other. For Each other," which speaks loudly of their success. Congratulations ladies! #BSMProud
