Curtis Wilson ('99) had an eye-opening experience in Xalapa, Veracruz which "moved Wilson to focus his sustainability work on food." After witnessing the shamanistic ways of farmers in Xalapa, and spending five years studying sustainability and permaculture in Mexico, Curtis moved back to his home town and is now the executive director of SEEDS

SEEDS is a St. Louis Park-based food and wellness nonprofit whose mission is to, "grow wellness and resiliency in St. Louis Park by empowering youth and community members through action and education."

"His plans include furthering social equity and engaging youth. For social equity, SEEDS is collaborating this spring with Cooking Matters for a series to help low-income families develop healthy cooking strategies when organic gets expensive" - (You Are Where You Eat - St. Louis Park Magazine).

A key part to our mission here at Benilde-St. Margaret's is to empower students to achieve a brighter future for themselves, their community and the world. Curtis is an excellent representation of our mission and values. We are proud to have Curtis be a part of this Red Knight alumni community, "Once a Red Knight, always a Red Knight!"
