Both soccer teams get treats, not tricks, at state games
Today was an exciting day for Red Knight soccer! At an 8 a.m. game, the BSM boys defeated St. Paul Academy and Summit School, 1-0, thanks to a second-half goal by Jake Horton.
The girls followed suit, claiming a 3-0 victory over Totino-Grace. Dana Buckhorn, assisted by Katie Oppenheimer, scored for the Red Knights, eleven minutes into play. In the second half, Maria Michels assisted Peggy Renier with a second goal and Kelly Pannek put in a penalty kick.
Both teams will now play for a Class A state championship at the Metrodome on Thursday, November 3. The boys’ will face Prairie Seeds Academy, beginning at 10 a.m. The girls’ game will be immediately afterward at 12:30 p.m.
There will be no school on Thursday, and the caferia will be closed that day. Students can sign up in the Main Office or Junior High Office to ride on a fan bus to the games. For more information, check your e-mail for one from PowerSchool.
