December 23, 2015

Basketball started at 9:30 am at DeLaSalle High School as the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights traveled downtown to meet the Islanders.  DLS started the day with a victory as their 9th Grade team defeated the Red Knights 9 White team 21-42.  The Islanders continued their winning ways with victories by C Squad (over BSM 9 Red) 29-61, girls 9th Grade 39-41, boys' JV 46-61, girls' JV and girls' varsity 44-64.  Then it was the boys' varsity game -- the Red Knights took an early lead and never let go.  Red Knights senior Sam Baker lead the way with 24 points, followed by juniors Derek Drees and Will Whitmore, both with 11 points.  The Islanders were led by sophomore, Gabe Kalscheur with 24 points.  Final score was 69-52.  Red Knights improved their record to 6-4, while the Islanders are 2-3.
