Parenting & Faith
Presentations are offered throughout the school year where members of the BSM faculty and staff address the spiritual aspects of teen issues. Parents and guardians are invited to join us for reflection and discussion on how to give our children faith-filled roots as they spread their wings and fly independently during their teen years.
All events are held in the Chapel, unless noted.
Tuesday, September 20 - Parenting & Faith: What it Means for Parents & Our Children to be Catholic at BSM; 8 - 9:30 a.m.
Dr. Sue Skinner, Senior High Principal, explores the basics of the Roman Catholic doctrine and offers insight on how to help our children stay spiritually engaged and connected to the Church throughout the teen years.
Wednesday, October 19 - Where To Go & What To Do When Bad Things Happen; 8 - 9:30 a.m.
Join Campus Minister Mike Jeremiah and Guidance Counselor Amanda Anderson as they discuss the resources available at BSM to help our children cope with difficult life experiences.
Thursday, February 9 - Serving Our Community Through Service Learning; 1 - 2:30 p.m.
A panel of BSM’s service-learning leaders and theology teachers discuss how the Catholic Church honors Christ’s example of humble servitude and how BSM enhances this virtue through a variety of resources and activities that encourage students to serve others. Panel includes Lisa Lenhart-Murphy, Holly Hoey Germann, Zach Zeckser and Susie Hinnendael.
May 9 - Senior Parents Reflect on the BSM Journey; 12 - 1:30 p.m., Library Conference Room
Connie Fourré, BSM Wellness Director, will lead the sharing as parents of graduating seniors reflect on the high school years as they prepare to let go of their children, and bless their future.“For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
