MSHSL Spotlight on Scholarship Awards:
"Recognizing Students for Academic Excellence"

  • The Spotlight on Scholarship is a year-round recognition program co-sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League and Jostens.  The program recognizes high school students for outstanding academic performance in two distinct ways.
  • Through the Spotlight on Scholarship program the MSHSL and Josten provide gold and/or silver certificates to every athlete and fine arts partcipant in the state who has a "B" or better grade-point average (GPA).
  • In addition to honoring athletes and fine art participants, the Spotlight on Scholarship program provides banners to MSHSL member schools whose varsity fine arts and athletic teams collectively achieve a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.

Criteria for Certificates:

  1. Students must be a member of a varsity, junior varsity or "B" squad (sophomore) athletic or fine arts team AND have a high school GPA (grade-point average).
  2. Grade-point average (GPA) of each student shall be computed from the grading period ending closest to the end of each activity season.
  3. Gold Certificate - 3.6 or better GPA  //  Silver Certificate - 3.0-3.59

Certificates are distributed through BSM's homerooms after each season.


 

 

 

 

Individual Academic All Conference Award: 
North Suburban Conference award given to Seniors who have a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.8 or higher.
