| Holy Angels | 1-1 | T |
NotesJV kicked off their season with a tightly contested 1-1 draw. Mimi Burns scored on a direct kick from 25 yards for the Red Knights. |
| Mahtomedi | 1-1 | T |
NotesJV drew Mahtomedi 1-1 after a hard fought match. Craziest half time ever...5 girls were stung by bees as we crossed a small path to reach shade. Thankfully no one was allergic. Girls were extremely tough as they played through bee stings in addition to other nagging injuries. This was the best result at Mahtomedi in 3 years. Caroline Kreitzer put the Red Knights on the board with an early goal but unfortunately the Zephers tied it up with about 10 minutes to play. Angela Charley faced 13 shots on goal as she helped BSM earn a tie. |
| Robbinsdale Cooper | 5-0 | W |
NotesThe JV played a possession game in a 5-0 win vs. Cooper. This was the team’s first win of the young season (after 2 ties). The possession was very strong as the team did not allow Cooper to get a shot on goal all match. Five different players had goals for the Red Knights. |
| Irondale | 3-0 | W |
NotesThe JV scored three goals in the opening 20 minutes of the match and then focused on possession in a 3-0 win vs. Irondale. It was the team’s second win in a row and they only allowed 2 shots on goal. |
| Minneapolis Washburn | 1-1 | T |
NotesThe JV tied 1-1 for the third time this season running their record to 2-0-3. The Red Knights scored the goal with 15 minutes remaining as Abby Sauer scored on a nice feed from Mimi Burns. Angela Charley blocked 2 breakaway attempts late in the second half as BSM was pushed up going for the win. |
| Cretin-Derham Hall | 3-1 | W |
NotesThe JV had their best win of the season to date with a 3-1 victory over CDH. Jordan Maddaus had 2 goals and Abby Sauer had 2 assists. All three goals were nice goals but the third was particularly nice because the Red Knights strung 7 consecutive passes before finishing. |
| Orono | 1-0 | W |
NotesThe JV had a strong performance but struggled putting the ball into the back of the net until 12 minutes to go in the match. Orono’s keeper made three nice saves in the first half and the Red Knights hit the post twice before Andy Saavedra fed Abby Sauer for the game winning goal. After an even first half, the Red Knights dominated play in the second half as Orono only neared the BSM goal twice. Angela Charley earned the clean sheet as keeper. |
| St. Francis | 7-1 | W |
NotesIn their 5th game in 6 days, the JV exploded for 7 goals vs. St. Francis with 6 different goal scorers. After St. Francis cut the lead to 2-1, the Red Knights scored 5 straight in dominating the final two thirds of the match. Making her debut as forward, Libby Grygar scored 2 goals for BSM. |
| Holy Angels | 4-1 | W |
NotesJV defeated previously unbeaten Holy Angels 4-1 after a scoreless first half where BSM was fortunate to be tied 0-0. Angela Charley's magnificent saves and Elise Overman's goal line clearance kept Holy Angels off the scoreboard in the first half. In the second half, the Red Knights used the heavy pursuit of AHA players against them by employing fakes in their game. Mimi Burns and Maddie Moore both scored after faking shots to clear themselves of the defenders. Jordan Maddaus connected on both of her penalty kicks for a 4-1 victory |
| Totino-Grace | 1-2 | L |
NotesThe JV suffered their first loss of the season. Perhaps flat coming off their victory yesterday vs. AHA, the Red Knights lost 2-1. Mimi Burns opened up the scoring on a direct kick from 22 yards but TG equalized just before half. Despite controlling play in the second half and missing some great chances to score, the Red Knights conceded the winning goal on a direct kick right outside of the box that hit the near post and went in. |

| St. Louis Park | 1-0 | W |
NotesThe JV got back to their winning ways with a 1-0 defeat over SLP. It looked like luck was not on the Red Knights’ side as they hit 2 crossbars/posts in each half before scoring with 10 minutes remaining in the match. Andy Saavedra put home a cross by Abby Sauer for the game’s only goal. Angela Charley made an incredible diving save with outstretched arms to preserve the win for BSM. |
| Eden Prairie | 2-1 | W |
NotesThe Red Knights defeated a very strong EP team 2-1 on tenacious hustle and fine defensive play. Sierra Tweston opened up the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first half. EP answered early in the second half but with 15 minutes to go, Jordan Maddaus scored on a rebound of Mimi Burn’s direct kick. Keeper Angela Charley, honorary captain of the game, made 7 saves. |
| Spring Lake Park | 7-1 | W |
NotesThe Red Knights got off to a slow start and trailed the match 1-0 with 10 minutes to play in the 1st half. Then they found a new gear as they netted 7 straight goals from 6 different players to cruise to a 7-1 victory. |
| Mahtomedi | 1-1 | T |
NotesDespite a significant possession advantage throughout the match, the Red Knights drew for the second time this season with Mahtomedi by the score of 1-1. Alexa Tataryn scored off an assist by Abby Sauer but the Zephyrs equalized right before half. |
| Chisago Lakes | 3-0 | W |
NotesBSM won their 10th match of the season with a comfortable 3-0 win over Chisago Lakes. Andy Saavedra scored 2 goals and the defense only allowed 2 shots on goal all game. Angela Charley saved a penalty kick to preserve the clean sheet. |
| Rogers | 4-1 | W |
NotesBSM closed their season with a 4-1 victory over Rogers to finish their season with only one loss. In all 16 games, only once did the Red Knights allow more than 1 goal (2 vs. Totino-Grace). Megan Hamilton and Keara Clacko anchored the defense all year. Megan…we know your positive outlook will get you through any necessary rehab. Also, I’d like to acknowledge our captain, Ellen Morrissey, whose leadership on and off the field was exemplary all year. |
